‘Stevie Blunder – I Just Have To Pay My Phone Bill’

Here’s a parody I think everyone can relate too. Technology has changed a lot in 25 years. Unlike in 1986 when I created this next comic, we all now have wireless phones, blackberrys & internet. The one thing that hasn’t changed is keeping up with the bills!

This spoof of the classic ‘I Just Called To Say I Love You’, transformed into, ‘I Just Have To Pay My Phone Bill’ demonstrates what might happen even if a legend like Stevie Wonder can’t keep up with high phone company rates. Most of the references still hold up here… AT&T is still around (although the famous ‘Reach Out & Touch Someone’ ad campaign featuring actor, Cliff Robertson isn’t).

The image of Stevie on a concert stage talking in a phone booth is still funny. (But when’s the last time you actually saw a phone booth?) I might have to update this cartoon to something like… ‘I Just Have To Have My iPhone’ or something now….
